St Johns - Mia Rig and animations.

At the start of 2018, I had the wonderful privilege to work at emergeWorlds on a project for St John's Ambulance. We designed a first aid training experience for Virtual Reality using the Leap Motion controls.

A few things I'd like to say about this project.

The rig I setup did everything I required it to do in Maya, so I don't think I'd change anything on that end. Her arms were initially designed to retract into the body so that she could be more pod-like so I made the rig accommodate.

However, I would reassess my animations as a whole instead of letting my eyes go to the points that are moving. I made the animations a little too flowing, and I let some pieces just float (when they aren't meant to) instead of coming to a rest. Reviewing the animations now shows me that I was a little behind following the voice work (despite it being Test Audio).

I was limited to only body language to convey emotions because the eye animations would be programmed in unity and animated there.
